How Can I help?

Welcome to Meagan McGinty Psychotherapy, conveniently located in north Chelsea by many subways and commuter rails. My mission is to help clients meet their goals and develop new coping skills.

With an understanding in many schools of psychology, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic, I have the flexibility to tailor our approach to meet your needs. I have experience working with preadolescents (11 & up), adolescents, adults and couples. Clients tend to deal with anxiety, depression, stressful life events, low self-esteem, behavioral issues, communication problems, relationship issues and pressure at work.

By collaborating with clients in a warm and safe environment, we will reflect on thoughts, emotions, behaviors, patterns and where these patterns came from. Feeling safe and cared for in our collaboration, new thoughts, patterns and behaviors can emerge that lead to a more fulfilling experience.

Services

Individual Therapy

Individual sessions are held weekly for 45 minutes. During these 45 minutes we will discuss your concerns. These concerns can include depression, grief, anxiety conflicts at home, work or in relationships, stress, negative thoughts, low self-esteem, parenting issues or anything else on your mind.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a great tool to improve communication, ease impasses and work on conflict resolution. It is also a great way to understand your partner and yourself more. Sessions are weekly and held for 45 minutes.

You're in great hands

It is important that all new clients feel welcome, safe, and taken care of. During your first session, we will discuss what brings you in, what goals you would like to work on and go over your history. Towards the end of our first session, I tend to provide feedback on how I may be helpful and how we may be able to collaborate to get you to your goals.

During our first session we will also discuss frequency of sessions, scheduling and fees. You can see if you are eligible for reimbursement through out of network benefits. I can also offer a sliding scale fee if that works better for you.

In rare instances, where we may not be a good match, I will be happy to provide referrals to other professionals that may serve you.

The unknowns of therapy can feel overwhelming at times and making that initial call can be intimidating. I am here to help with any questions you may have about getting started. It is important to note that we move at your pace and I will serve as your guide.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
